This year, we were pleased to announce our 2024 winner of the Leak-Proof Roof® Giveaway as Francie Salzillo! Francie and her late husband had built their home together in 1994 and found that many stressors were arising with different parts of the home.
The existing roof of their home was leaking, and with the rain, it was becoming very inconvenient. Not only was the roof a source of stress for Francie, but she was also dealing with a septic issue at her home as well.
These large financial burdens were taxing, and Francie wondered how she was going to be able to complete everything. Because of these difficulties she was facing, Francie decided to enter contests online to see if there was a possibility of winning.
A Miracle Call from United Home Experts
On May 14th, Francie unexpectedly received a call from United Home Experts announcing her as the winner of the Leak-Proof Roof® contest.
Her voice was full of disbelief and shock.
She was apprehensive when we first told her, and she even had a coworker validate that we, as a company, were both legitimate and truly gave away free roofs.
Francie said, “These things just don’t happen,” and that winning her new roof was “like a miracle.”
After sending out our Home Expert, Scott, Francie realized that this miracle was a reality.
Choosing and Loving Her New Roof
After viewing her options, Francie fell in love with the Owens Corning TruDefinition® Duration Chateau Green shingles. The shed in her backyard is also green, and it was very important to her that the new roof would be able to match. Her original roof was gray when it was new, but over time, it became rotted and had black and green mold stains.
After installing her new green shingles, she said that her roof “really pops” and particularly loves it when the sun hits it. Her new roof has also fostered many great comments from her neighbors.

Additionally, we thought it was very important to ask Francie how her overall experience was with our company. She reiterated several times that the process of replacing her roof was smooth and the team was very meticulous. She explained that the team paid special attention to her statues in the front of her home and made sure not to damage them.
Francie also mentioned that the crew cleaned up after their work by picking up loose nails around the property. Overall, Francie appreciated the communication from each part of the team and ended with a comment, ” Everybody should use you guys!”
We were very thankful to help Francie love her home again, and we look forward to doing another Leak-Proof Roof® giveaway in the coming months.
