Our commitment to you begins with our core values.
As a guest in the United Home Experts office, one of the first things you see is a visual representation of our core values, placed prominently on our walls. Years ago, when we first determined our original set of core values, I didn’t realize how important they would become in our hiring, developing, promoting, and recognition processes. But I’m glad we kept at it, making subtle tweaks over time as we reviewed who we are and the type of organization we want to become.
Today, as I was looking at our core value panels, I remembered back to when we first came up with them. We brought our company together in one conference room and went through a series of exercises asking for behaviors and values that we exemplified as an organization to determine what we wanted to amplify.
We had one particularly fun exercise where we put up yellow post-its on the wall, honoring and recognizing different team members for the positive ways they treated others, how they made people feel and the particular care they took with customers. Through this exercise, 5 common themes emerged and we realized the traits we needed to build our team and business. These themes became our core values and what our customers can expect when they choose to work with us.
- Know your stuff (always improving)
- Be positive, energetic and fun
- Creatively find solutions
- Tell the truth and keep your word
- Make customers happy
We use our core values as guiding principles and over the years they have served us well. We have them printed everywhere as daily reminders of the customer experience we are committed to providing for you. Thank you for supporting our local business since 1998. We look forward to the opportunity to help you with your next home improvement project, whether that be siding, roofing, windows, painting or repair work.
