The Sherwin-Williams leadership team recognized local painting contractor United Home Experts as an industry standout with a personal visit to United’s headquarters on September 23, 2011. Despite a challenging economy United has sustained growth and maintained steady paint purchases from Sherwin-Williams.
The United Home Experts team met with the Sherwin-Williams for about an hour. Topics of conversation included new Sherwin-Williams products, sales and marketing ideas, and changes in the painting industry.
“It was great to meet some of the team that oversees the operations for Sherwin-Williams on the East Coast as well as a few corporate executives,” says John Dudley, Principal of United Home Experts. “We already know they care a lot about the quality of products they sell but a personal visit shows us that they also genuinely care about their customers.”
During the visit the group discussed ideas on how Sherwin-Williams in-store staff can engage homeowners who might be looking for a house painter. The discussion also moved to ways Sherwin-Williams can leverage their online presence to generate new business. “I got the impression the Sherwin-Williams team wanted to see things from our perspective as the end-user of their products and as an extension of their sales staff,” says Peter Martino of United Home Experts. “They were sincerely interested in our ideas and in ways they can set up all their loyal customers for success.”
